I knew there would be one person I swear to god-
The second amendment of the constitution states that you have the right to bear arms sure… But that came into effect in 1791.
Do you really think people back then had semi automatic weapons like we have? The fact that anyone can own a gun is troubling. The fact that a child as young as 7 can legally fire a semi automatic weapon is highly disturbing. A lot of people own guns thinking that they will be safe because other people own guns. Do you see how this is a problem? We are normalizing these weapons and making them a part of everyday culture. This normality leads us to become desensitized to the issue, thus we overlook the problem.
This just goes back to my point that the law NEEDS an overhaul. It needs to be updated to catch up with the technological advancements of the world.
This isn’t just America either, there are a bunch of outdated laws in Australia too.
You know machineguns existed right before the revolution, right?
Also, what exactly is it that you think semi-automatic means?
I am aware, I do believe that my punctuation has let me down. My point was that these weapons have evolved since then, so too should the laws behind them.
